The Enchiridion - Aside

You may notice a break in the flow between parts 15 and 16. Although I'm not sure if we'll come across anything specific from Epictetus, Seneca advises that we peridically deprive ourselves of certain comforts so that we can decrease our dependence and increase our appreciation of the things in our lives.

Currently I'm randomly depriving myself of various things (smartphone, iPad, caffeine) for 5 days at a time. I just finished 5 days without books, which meant that I needed to take a break from my Epictetus reading and writing.
